SKYLD Security and Defence Ltd was represented by Mr. Romeos Bratskas at DEFEA Conference 2026, held on 5 May 2026 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, Greece. The conference brought together senior representatives from government, defence, security, industry, research and innovation communities, offering a high-level platform for dialogue on the future of European defence, emerging technologies, industrial readiness and cross-border cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s conference, organised under the theme \u201cSecuring Tomorrow: Defence Strategies for the Future\u201d, focused on key issues shaping the European and international defence environment, including strategic autonomy, emerging and hybrid threats, defence innovation, technology transfer, industrial resilience and the transition of advanced technologies into operational use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A significant part of the strategic context of the conference was shaped by the address of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, who underlined the importance of a stronger and more autonomous European Union in the fields of defence and security. His remarks highlighted the need for increased defence investment, the strengthening of deterrence, the operational development of European defence mechanisms, and the growing contribution of the Cypriot defence industry to Europe\u2019s security and technological readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For SKYLD, the messages delivered during the conference strongly reflect the environment in which the company operates.
