{"id":824,"date":"2023-02-22T15:46:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T15:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/?p=824"},"modified":"2024-01-17T15:48:58","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T15:48:58","slug":"what-is-commands-edf-project-about","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/?p=824","title":{"rendered":"What is COMMANDS EDF project about?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"532\" src=\"https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/commands1-1024x532.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/commands1-1024x532.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/commands1-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/commands1-768x399.jpg 768w, https:\/\/skyld.com.cy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/commands1.jpg 1047w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The COMMANDS project aims to develop Through Life Capabilities (TLC) for agile, intelligent and cooperative manned and unmanned land systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These capabilities will be based on a set of state-of-the-art UGV technology solutions providing seamless functional services through integrated modular open architectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A robust systems engineering process, supported by a technology demonstrator and a business case, will ensure rapid risk reduction (TRL6\/7) as well as rapid potential exploitation (TRL4\/5) of technologies that directly address a roadmap for the sustainable and autonomous development of EU defence \u201cThrough Life Capabilities\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main outcomes of the project are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Improve robustness against operational disruptions of last-kilometre re-supply convoys<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce the risks to personnel participating in last Kilometre re-supply convoys<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>How?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By providing EU ground forces with a system of systems capable of ensuring reliable and effective cooperation between different manned and unmanned assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results of the project will be used to upgrade current European ground vehicles for specific missions. It could also be integrated into future vehicles under development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COMMANDS brings together 21 European organisations (Mid- Caps, SMEs and RTOs) from 10 EU Member States and will be implemented over 3 years.
