On April 7, 2025, the consortium partners of the Maritime Health Usage and Monitoring System (MHUMS) project convened in Nicosia, Cyprus, for a pivotal project coordination meeting hosted by the University of Nicosia Research Foundation (UNRF).
The meeting brought together key stakeholders from the two participating organizations to review progress, align technical developments, and plan upcoming milestones. SKYLD Ltd, the project coordinator, was represented by Mr. Romeos Bratskas and Dr. Petros Savvidis, while the host institution, UNRF, was represented by Dr. Elias Yfantis and Dr. Stelios Neophytou.
As the lead organisation, SKYLD Ltd continues to ensure that MHUMS remains on track to meet its ambitious scientific and technological goals. The meeting served as an important checkpoint to evaluate the advancements made in the development of the integrated Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) for maritime vessels—a system designed to enhance operational efficiency, support predictive maintenance, and extend asset longevity through the use of IoT, AI, and data-driven decision-making tools.
Participants also discussed technical integration strategies, upcoming testing phases, and plans for dissemination and exploitation of results, including the piloting of MHUMS in real-life maritime scenarios.
The session reinforced the consortium’s shared commitment to delivering an innovative and impactful solution for the maritime industry, aligning with European green shipping initiatives and the goals of the RESTART 2016-2020 “Co-Develop” Programme.
